Policy Manager – London – Hybrid

About the Role

A leading organisation within the UK energy sector is seeking a Policy Manager to support engagement with regulatory policy, industry consultations, and strategic developments across the electricity and infrastructure landscape.

This role will focus on monitoring regulatory change, analysing emerging policy developments, and coordinating responses to industry consultations. Working closely with senior leadership and technical teams, you will help ensure the organisation remains informed, engaged, and well positioned within a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.

You will play a key role in translating complex policy and regulatory developments into clear business insight, supporting strategic decision making and effective engagement with regulators, industry bodies, and stakeholders across the sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor regulatory developments, consultations, and policy changes impacting the UK energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Track updates from regulators, government departments, and industry bodies relevant to electricity networks and energy transition activity.
  • Produce internal briefings and updates on emerging policy and regulatory developments.
  • Support the preparation of consultation responses, policy papers, and strategic briefing documents.
  • Coordinate input from technical, operational, and commercial teams to support policy engagement activities.
  • Analyse regulatory frameworks and assess potential impacts on the business and wider industry.
  • Support participation in industry forums, working groups, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Build effective relationships with regulators, industry bodies, and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal teams to communicate regulatory updates and support understanding of policy implications.
  • Contribute to the development of policy positions aligned with business strategy and industry priorities.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the UK energy sector or regulated infrastructure industries.
  • Experience analysing policy, regulation, or industry frameworks.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information.
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefings, or consultation responses.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate technical or regulatory topics clearly to a range of stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Experience engaging with regulators, government departments, or industry bodies.
  • Understanding of electricity networks, grid connections, or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting consultation responses or policy engagement activity.
  • Background within energy policy, regulation, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
