Gentech are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experiencedFood Safety Officer to join their expanding food manufacturing team in Newtownards for an immediate start.

Key Duties:

• Maintain and review HACCP plans and food safety procedures
• Ensure compliance with UK/NI food legislation and customer standards
• Carry out routine food safety, hygiene and quality inspections
• Monitor CCPs, product quality, packaging and label accuracy
• Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions
• Support allergen management, traceability and product recall systems
• Prepare for internal, customer and regulatory audits
• Deliver food safety and hygiene training to production staff
• Maintain accurate records including HACCP, temperature, cleaning and training documentation
• Promote GMP standards and food safety culture across the business

Essential Criteria:

• Level 3/4 Food Safety qualification
• HACCP qualification
• Experience within food manufacturing
• Knowledge of hygiene and allergen controls
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Competent with Microsoft Office

Desirable:

• Internal Audit qualification
• BRCGS experience
• Meat processing industry experience
