An excellent opportunity has become available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal clinic in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, in a consulting-focused role.

About the Practice

The clinic is a modern, well-equipped small animal facility designed to support a wide range of medical and surgical cases, with a strong emphasis on high standards of patient care.

5 consultation roomsTwo fully equipped operating theatresDedicated dental suiteSeparate dog and cat wardsModern diagnostic and surgical equipmentThe practice manages a broad and varied caseload, including both routine and more complex medical and surgical cases. Additional clinical expertise is available on-site, including orthopaedic support, enhancing both patient care and professional development opportunities.

This is a consulting-focused position, ideal for a veterinary surgeon who enjoys client interaction and preventative healthcare.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering high-quality consultations and vaccinationsManaging a variety of medical casesProviding clear and empathetic communication to clientsWorking closely with the nursing and support teamContributing to ongoing patient care and case managementThis role offers the opportunity to focus on consulting and medical case continuity, within a well-supported clinical setting.

Working Pattern

Part-time 20 hours per week4-day working week2 in 9 Saturdays (with time off in lieu)This structured rota supports a flexible and balanced working lifestyle.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

Hold a BVSc or equivalent veterinary degree recognised in the UKBe RCVS registered (or eligible)Be confident with consultations and routine medical casesDemonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skillsWork well within a team-focused environmentHave a proactive and compassionate approach to patient careSalary & Benefits
