This opportunity is with a long-established and recognisable retail bakery brand where you will be responsible for AirCon systems across 100+ retail sites around North West London, Home Counties to the South Coast, plus their central production unit. The business is investing in long‑term, in‑house technical expertise, bringing AirCon support internal – meaning you will become the go‑to AirCon specialist across the estate, trusted to manage breakdowns, prioritise work, and structure your own days.

The package

  • Up to £50k salary (DOE)

  • Company van + fuel card (kept at home)
  • 40 hours per week (5 days out of 7)
  • Set your own schedule – autonomy over your workload

Day‑to‑day

You’ll be working across a large multi‑site retail and food production estate, carrying out a mix of emergency reactive work and planned maintenance, including:

  • Reactive air‑con breakdowns and emergency call‑outs
  • Fault‑finding and diagnostics on aircon systems
  • Working on extraction fans and ducting
  • Repairs to commercial fridges/freezers, walk‑in cold rooms and store air conditioning
  • Maintenance of refrigeration, food storage and air conditioning systems
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)

The requirements

  • Proven commercial experience across AC
  • VRF/VRV or split systems experience
  • Knowledge of digital thermostats & controllers (e.g. Carel or Danfoss systems)
  • F‑Gas certification (essential)
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic ability
  • Health & Safety knowledge
  • Experience working independently and managing your own schedule
  • Full UK driving licence

This is a senior, expert‑level role – heavily reactive, varied, and well paid – ideal for someone who wants stability, strong earnings and independence without the stress of self‑employment.

Full UK driving licence required. Experience with AirCon systems across multiple sites ideally within Food/Drink. Candidates must be located in the South of the UK (Hertfordshire to South Coast).
