Job Overview
This is a permanent, part-time visiting care role offering 20-24 hours per week. The carer will support an 81-year-old client with dementia and heart failure, helping her to maintain independence and quality of life. This role would suit an organised, reliable and calm individual who is experienced in medication management, personal care routines, and providing companionship to clients with complex health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer medicines
- Support the client with mobility around the home
- Shop for groceries and prepare light meals and lunches
- Provide friendly companionship and emotional support
About the Client
AGE: 81MEDICAL CONDITIONS: Dementia and heart failureADDITIONAL HEALTH NEEDS: The client has had two knee replacements and has limited ability to walk distances. Her speech has deteriorated significantly, which limits her ability to interact with others. She spends much of her time alone during weekday mornings, with her husband providing support at weekends and in the afternoons.
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, 9am-1pm (20-24 hours per week). Some flexibility to these hours may be available.
Requirements
- Fluent English speaker
- Must hold a full driving licence and provide own car
- Experience in medication management and personal care routines
- Organised, reliable and calm approach to care delivery
