Senior Pharmacy Medicines Management Assistant

Working hours

Hours are 37.5 hours per week to include late working on a rotation and to participate in weekends and bank holidays on a rotation. Consideration will be given to candidates who wish to work on a part‑time basis.

Position overview

The Pharmacy Department at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for Band 3 Senior Medicines Management Assistant who will work with the Clinical Pharmacists and Enhanced Role Pharmacy Technicians providing a ward based service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a medicines management service to provide high quality, efficient person‑centred care and drive improvements with medicines optimisation.
• Perform a range of duties providing services to in‑patients, out‑patients, wards and departments, including dispensing, communication with patients and hospital staff.
• Work under the supervision of Medicines Management Technicians and Pharmacists.
• Carry out near‑bedside dispensing, patient interview and counselling for discharge.
• Participate in governance of medicines through the regular cycle of audits.
