Project Planner – Water Sector

Location: Remote, with visits to Peterborough every 2 weeks. Rate: Up to £400 per day. Start Date: May. Duration: 12 month rolling contract. We’re looking for an experienced Project Planner to support several major AMP8 water infrastructure programmes. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative alliance delivering large-scale water and environmental projects as part of AMP8.

You’ll play a key role in driving programme performance, working closely with delivery teams to ensure projects are planned, monitored and delivered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 and MSP.
• Ensure plans reflect full scope, sequencing and resource allocation.
• Monitor progress against programme, focusing on critical path and milestones.
• Identify risks, delays and opportunities, driving mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with site, engineering and commercial teams to ensure programme accuracy.
• Support reporting and provide clear programme updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with planning standards and HSE requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Planner within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project (MSP).
• Good understanding of construction methodologies and project lifecycles.
• Ability to interpret drawings and technical information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
