Job Description

At Johnsons, we are seeking an experienced, commercially drivenHead of Projects to lead the delivery and growth of ourcommercial relocation and workplace projects division. Based in the London/South region, the role combinesoperational leadership, client management, commercial oversight, and projectdelivery across office relocations, furniture installations, workplace moves,storage logistics, and associated commercial services.

The successful candidate will be responsible formanaging projects from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuringprofitability, operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and high standardsof service delivery.

This is a senior leadership role suited to someonewith strong experience in commercial moving, fit-out, logistics, facilitiesmanagement, or workplace change projects.

Responsibilities

Project & Operational Management

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, andsuccessful delivery of commercial relocation projects.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects,ensuring timelines, budgets, and service standards are achieved.
  • Lead project teams, site supervisors,subcontractors, and operational staff.
  • Conduct site surveys and develop detailedmove plans, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered safelyand in line with company procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly andprofessionally during live projects.

Commercial Management

  • Prepare quotations, tenders, and projectcostings.
  • Monitor project profitability, margins,and financial performance.
  • Negotiate contracts and supplieragreements.
  • Identify opportunities to increaserevenue and improve operational efficiency.
  • Support business growth through upsellingadditional services and maintaining strong client relationships.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build long-term relationships withcorporate customers, facilities teams, project managers, and procurementdepartments.
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, andproject reviews.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service andmaintain high levels of client satisfaction.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, motivate, and develop operationaland project teams.
  • Support recruitment, training, andperformance management.
  • Promote a positive, professional, andsafety-focused culture across the business.
  • Improve internal processes and encouragecontinuous improvement.

Compliance & Health & Safety

  • Ensure projects comply with health &safety legislation and company policies.
  • Maintain RAMS, insurance requirements,and operational documentation.
  • Monitor compliance standards across allproject activity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience within commercialrelocations, logistics, workplace services, fit-out, or relatedindustries.
  • Strong project management and commercialmanagement experience.
  • Excellent organisational and leadershipskills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projectssimultaneously
  • Experience managing budgets, quotations,and financial reporting.
  • Strong client-facing and communicationskills.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safetyrequirements.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
  • Experience in workplace change managementor office fit-out projects.
  • Knowledge of furniture installation andstorage logistics operations.
