Growth & Retention Lead – Fast-Growing Drinks Challenger Brand

D2C Subscription eCommerce | Founder-Led Growth Company

I’m partnering with a fast-scaling Drinks company with a impressive D2C base to find a commercially-driven Growth & Retention Lead to take full ownership of eCommerce/online growth performance, customer retention, and lifecycle strategy.

Reporting directly into the Founders and managing one direct report, this is a highly autonomous role for someone who has already operated end-to-end across growth, acquisition and retention within a D2C/eCommerce/Subscription-first environment and now wants true ownership within a disruptive name in the drinks space.

The business has significant eCommerce growth plans ahead, including new product launches, subscription expansion, and major online initiatives; requiring someone who is both strategically sharp and operationally excellent.

This is not a role for someone who needs heavy direction. The successful individual will be expected to lead from the front, make decisions confidently, and build scalable growth systems that directly impact revenue performance.

What’s The Role?:

You will own the full eCommerce growth and retention function across acquisition, lifecycle marketing, subscriptions, and onsite eCommerce performance.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Own and execute eCommerce growth strategy across customer acquisition and retention
  • Manage and optimise paid social performance, primarily across Meta
  • Lead lifecycle marketing and CRM strategy through Klaviyo
  • Oversee subscription growth, retention, and optimisation via Recharge
  • Drive eCommerce performance and customer journey improvements within Shopify
  • Build and optimise customer retention, LTV, and repeat purchase strategies
  • Analyse performance data, customer behaviour, and campaign effectiveness to drive commercial decisions
  • Work closely with the Founders on upcoming eCommerce initiatives including new product launches (incl. personalised/functional) & expansion of subscription offerings
  • Manage one direct report and help scale the wider eCommerce function over time
  • Develop reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking frameworks
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements, automation, and scalable growth

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a D2C/eCommerce/Subscription-first growth role with ownership across both acquisition and retention
  • Hands-on experience managing paid social campaigns & lifecycle/email marketing (ideally Meta & Klaviyo)
  • Shopify/Online Sales eCommerce operations
  • Strong understanding of customer lifecycle, LTV, CAC, retention, and subscription metrics
  • Experience building and scaling eCommerce growth strategies end-to-end
  • Strong academic background preferred (ideally Tech/Science/Data/Commercial)
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically within a lean, high-growth environment
