SENIOR ARCHITECT OR SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Location: Head Office, Ascot 

Ascot Design is growing and we are looking for a talented Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Designer to join our award-winning team, working on front-end design and planning application delivery (RIBA Stages 0– 2). 

We work on a wide range of exciting projects, primarily within the residential and mixed-use sectors, ranging from small-scale developments to large strategic schemes. We are passionate about creating architecture that is attractive, commercially aware and technically considered. 

This role is ideal for a creative designer with strong residential sector experience and a passion for taking projects from concept through to planning submission.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Leading projects through RIBA Stages 0–2, shaping concepts from the outset 
  • Developing layouts and bespoke house type designs 
  • Producing high-quality planning drawings, presentation material and design packages for outline, detailed and reserved matters applications 
  • Undertaking site analysis to inform context-driven proposals 
  • Responding creatively to planning constraints, policy requirements and local character 
  • Managing and coordinating the design process across multiple projects 
  • Collaborating with clients, consultants and internal teams to develop cohesive design proposals 
  • Managing and coordinating team members to meet project deadlines 
  • Presenting schemes clearly and confidently in meetings, workshops and design discussions 

What we’re looking for: 

  • Strong experience in architectural design, primarily within the residential and mixed-use sectors 
  • Excellent spatial awareness and layout design skills 
  • Creative thinking combined with a strong technical understanding of buildings and construction 
  • Good understanding of UK planning processes and system 
  • Strong project management and organisational skills 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and client-facing skills 
  • A proactive, collaborative and team-oriented approach 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
