Job Title: Electrical Project Manager – Contract Outside IR35
Salary: £400–£500 per day DOE
Location: East Midlands
Why this role
This is a chance to lead the decarbonisation of two major Amazon hubs without taking on a role that disappears into the background. These are live, fast-moving logistics environments where the work matters, the pace is real, and the outcome will be visible across two high-profile operational sites.
You’ll be managing a major lighting upgrade programme across Chesterfield and Nottingham, helping replace around 18,000 fittings while keeping Amazon moving. The sites do not stop, so the right person will know how to deliver safely, calmly and commercially in occupied environments where planning, communication and problem-solving are everything.
What you’ll do
You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of both sites, managing labour-only contractors, coordinating programme activity, solving site issues and keeping the works moving without disrupting live operations.
The project includes high-level high bay lighting, low-level vapour fittings and minor electrical upgrade works to existing lighting track. You’ll manage Amazon stakeholders, maintain momentum across both locations and act as the link between site teams, client expectations and programme delivery.
Pre-construction begins in mid-July, with installation works expected to run through to April 2027.
About the company
You’ll be joining a specialist organisation delivering large-scale lighting and energy-efficiency projects for major commercial and industrial environments. The business is acting as Principal Contractor, so this role needs someone who understands responsibility, control and clear site leadership.
The wider mission is simple: reduce energy use, improve operational environments and support major organisations on the route to net zero.
About you
You’ll be an Electrical Project Manager with strong experience in electrical installation, lighting upgrades and retrofit works in live, occupied environments. Amazon experience would be ideal, but experience in similar large-scale logistics, FMCG, manufacturing or distribution environments will be considered.
You’ll be local to the East Midlands, able to travel from home to both sites without staying away. You’ll be confident managing contractors, client stakeholders, programmes, site issues and the pressure that comes with keeping a live operation running.
How to apply
This is a standout contract for an Electrical Project Manager who wants to deliver meaningful decarbonisation work across two major Amazon hubs.
