We are partnering with a highly respected national law firm to recruit an Employment Solicitor into its growing team based in Birmingham.

The team has a strong reputation across the healthcare, independent care, and public sectors, and is increasingly active across areas such as insurance, financial services, higher education, housing, and wider commercial organisations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nationally recognised employment team advising a broad client base ranging from major public sector bodies to multinational employers.

You’ll support senior lawyers while also managing your own caseload, gaining exposure to a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work, including complex and high-profile matters.

Duties include:

  • Advising clients on a full range of employment law matters
  • Supporting on employee relations issues (disciplinary, grievance, capability)
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and procedures
  • Assisting with and managing employment tribunal claims
  • Advising on TUPE, restructures, and redundancy processes
  • Providing guidance on equality legislation and compliance
  • Contributing to training sessions and client-facing initiatives
  • Supporting business development and client relationship activities

You’ll work collaboratively across offices as part of a multi-disciplinary national team, often alongside specialists in regulatory, commercial, and governance matters.

Experience required:

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with employment law experience
  • Strong grounding in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Experience advising on employee relations and tribunal matters
  • Knowledge of equality legislation and employment case law
  • Experience drafting contracts, policies, and settlement documentation
  • Exposure to sectors such as healthcare, public sector, financial services, or commercial organisations (beneficial but not essential)
  • Commercially aware, organised, and confident managing your own workload
  • Strong client management skills and an interest in business development
