As a Team Leader, your leadership and support will play a key role in delivering these outcomes every day.
Your Role as a Team Leader (Childrens Services)
Youll support the day-to-day running of the home, leading by example to create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can develop and succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Support the care of children aged 1217 in a safe, homely environment
Contribute to meeting their physical, emotional, social, and educational needs
Build positive relationships to support personal development
Promote independence through daily living skills
Supervise and support team members to develop their skills and confidence
Lead by example, ensuring high standards of care
Mentor less experienced staff and strengthen team capability
Advocate for the needs and best interests of young people
Support consistent, high-quality care across the service
Work flexibly across shifts, including days, waking nights, and sleep-ins
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
Level 3 Diploma in Childrens Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Willingness to work towards a management qualification
Awareness of Childrens Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
Experience supporting or mentoring others in a team setting
Passion for improving outcomes for young people
Strong communication, empathy, and emotional awareness
A calm, resilient approach in challenging situations
A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
