Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in London. The Business Development Manager will identify, develop and manage new business opportunities across bridging loans, short-term property finance, development finance and refinancing solutions.
Responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, property investors, and corporate clients, and presenting tailored funding solutions that align with client needs. The role will also involve preparing proposals, coordinating with underwriting and operations teams to ensure timely approvals and monitoring the progress of deals through to completion. The Business Development Manager will track performance against targets, analyze market trends and competitor activity, and contribute to strategic initiatives to grow Berkeley Credit’s presence in the UK and international markets.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales or relationship management within financial services, ideally in bridging finance, commercial lending, or property finance
- Strong client-facing skills, including the ability to build long-term relationships with brokers, investors, and business owners and to manage a diversified prospect pipeline
- Solid understanding of property finance structures, credit risk considerations and lending processes, with the ability to explain complex funding solutions clearly
- Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills, with confidence in leading client meetings and representing the company at events or networking opportunities
- Analytical and commercially minded approach, with the ability to assess deals, interpret financial information and make data-informed recommendations
- Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities, meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced deal environment
- Comfort using CRM systems and standard office software to manage pipelines, reporting and client communication; familiarity with sales performance metrics is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; relevant industry certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of the UK property market and experience working with UK and international investors is advantageous
