GPH Builders Merchants Ltd is seeking an experienced and ambitious Branch Manager / Plumbing & Heating Manager to lead and grow our Stonehaven branch.
This is a unique opportunity to manage an established and successful builders merchant branch, servicing customers in South Aberdeenshire, while also developing a major new growth area in Plumbing & Heating across the North East of Scotland.
The role combines:
- Management of an existing general merchant branch serving trade and retail customers
- Development of a specialist Plumbing & Heating offering targeting trade professionals across a wider North East of Scotland region
The board of directors believes there is a significant gap in the local market for a business that can combine strong general merchant support with a high-quality plumbing and heating supply operation.
GPH Builders Merchants already has successful pockets of trade within the business where customers benefit from the combined general merchant and plumbing ranges which provides a strong platform to build from. The company now plans to expand and strengthen this area further with the skills, experience and leadership of the successful candidate.
We are looking for someone with the drive and commercial ability to help develop both the Stonehaven branch and the wider Plumbing & Heating division into a major contributor to the future growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Stonehaven branch
- Grow sales across general merchanting and Plumbing & Heating
- Develop and execute a detailed growth plan
- Build strong relationships with trade customers and suppliers
- Recruit, motivate and develop a successful team
- Identify new customer opportunities across the North East of Scotland
- Work closely with company directors to support long-term growth
About You
- Experience within domestic or light commercial plumbing & heating, merchanting or construction supply
- Strong commercial awareness and leadership skills
- Ability to build relationships with customers and supply chain partners
- Motivated, organised and growth-focused
- Experience managing teams and driving sales performance
