About the Role:
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across Northwest Europe by promoting laboratory equipment, workflow automation solutions, and life science instrumentation to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or research organizations.
This role focuses on strategic account development, channel expansion, and consultative sales across both direct and indirect sales channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and expand strategic accounts while identifying and converting new business opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO/CDMO, and academic research sectors.
- Develop both direct and indirect sales channels across Northwest Europe, including management and expansion of distributor and channel partner relationships.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, leveraging industry networks, CRM systems, and sales tools to expand the client base and generate commercial opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Application Scientists, Technical Support, and Marketing teams to develop tailored customer solutions and commercial strategies.
- Represent Galatek at industry conferences, trade shows, and scientific events to strengthen market presence, expand networks, and generate qualified leads.
- Provide market insights and customer feedback to management to optimize commercial processes and support strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to overall sales objectives and consistently achieve revenue targets.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in life science commercial roles involving laboratory automation, instrumentation, or related scientific solutions to at least one of the following customer segments in Northwest Europe: academic research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, CROs, or CDMOs.
- Existing distributor, channel partner, or regional commercial network within the life science, laboratory instrumentation, or laboratory automation industry in Northwest Europe is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of biological laboratory workflows, life science instrumentation, and laboratory automation technologies.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and client engagements simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Europe for customer meetings, conferences, and partner engagements.
- Master’s degree or higher in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Drug Discovery, Genomics, or related Life Science disciplines preferred. PhD is a strong advantage.
- Professional-level English proficiency is required. Additional European languages or Chinese would be considered advantageous.
