About The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Costing Engineer to join our Sales team, supporting the preparation of accurate customer quotations and regulated tender submissions. This role plays a key part in ensuring customer specifications meet business, commercial, and compliance requirements while supporting profitable growth.

You will work closely with the External Sales Team, Head of Sales, Bid Team, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality costing data and commercial insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate costings using the designated Business Specification Sheet
  • Ensure all customer specifications align with business requirements and KPIs
  • Support the Bid Team with costing input for regulated tenders
  • Assist the Sales Team with Specification Change Requests relating to cost
  • Maintain a strong understanding of relevant industry legislation and compliance
  • Source new products where required and obtain competitive costings
  • Provide support relating to routing processes and procedures
  • Attend Project Launch meetings to validate specification accuracy
  • Maintain and update costing data to support ongoing commercial decisions

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Costing, Estimating, or Engineering role (manufacturing or automotive environment preferred)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and requirements
  • Confident working with Excel and internal systems
  • Good understanding of commercial and compliance requirements
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across teams
