Salford City Council’s Streetscene Service supports essential frontline operations across Parks, Waste, Street Cleansing and Transport. Our teams work together to deliver highquality public services that help keep Salford clean, safe and moving.

About the Role
We are looking for a confident and technically minded Systems Development Officer to help maintain and improve the digital systems that support our frontline services.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and maintain Streetscene IT systems.
- Support system configuration, improvements and digital development.
- Test and help roll out upgrades and new features.
- Monitor system performance and support datadriven insight.
- Produce reports and SQLbased data extracts.
- Support system users and deliver staff training.
About you
You will be someone who enjoys problemsolving, improving systems and working collaboratively to deliver better outcomes. You take personal responsibility, demonstrate Salford’s values, and bring a positive, solutionfocused approach to your work.
We’re looking for someone who can bring both practical experience and a strong understanding of how systems support service delivery.
You will have:
- HNC in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Around 34 years’ experience working with and supporting operational IT systems, or the ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of expertise.
- A strong understanding of systems, data and how they are used to support business processes.
- Awareness of data management, compliance or relevant legislation in an operational environment
- Strong SQL skills.
- Excellent communication and usersupport skills.
- A proactive, solutionsfocused approach.
- Knowledge of Confirm and mobile/fieldbased systems (desirable).
