Position within M&S and its Digital & Technology team.

What you’ll do

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high‑performing software engineering team focused on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines; monitor progress, risks, and dependencies and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams, evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and platforms, and develop the team’s technical roadmap.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards to ensure software meets performance, reliability, and usability requirements, and lead the maintenance and support of existing systems.

Who you are

  • Previous senior software engineer with polyglot hands‑on experience.
  • Experience building scalable web or backend solutions and leading teams of senior engineers.
  • Strong background in system design, software architecture, cloud, and standard development methodologies.
  • Promoter of DevOps culture – building and running the infrastructure.

  • Salesforce and Javascript would be advantageous for this role
  • Java, Spring, SpringBoot, Micronaut
  • React, Next.js, Typescript, Angular
  • Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, Dynatrace (observability)
  • SQL Server, MongoDB
  • Ignite, Redis
