Position Description:The Athletic Facilitator will support the Athletic Director in coordinating, organizing, and facilitating a variety of athletic activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our 6th-8th grade student population. Primary responsibilities will be event supervision for a variety of athletic events and oversight of the middle school athletic department.

Possess a great love for sport and an interest in helping individuals reach their highest potentialGood role model for middle school student-athletesCurrent knowledge of sport rulesAbility to relate to and teach teenage studentsEvidence of successful coaching experienceEvidence of expertise in teaching the fundamentals of individual skills and team playStrong interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skillsTeacher certification preferred but not required
Event supervision at APS 6th-8th grade athletic eventsSupport all 6th-8th grade sport programs, camps, clinics, leagues, and events, including organization of gym spaceImplement, coordinate, and support sustainable district and building level systems to promote academic and behavioral needs of 6th-8th grade studentsWork collaboratively with the Athletic Director to ensure alignment of athletic programs and department vision, with a focus on 6th-8th grade athleticsWork collaboratively with the Maintenance Supervisor and Transportation Supervisor to coordinate facility and field preparations and busing for 6th-8th grade teams.Help Athletic Director to evaluate all middle school/youth athletic programming and lead growth and improvement of these programsCreate materials to publicize athletic and sporting events, both in printed and electronic formats, for the purpose of disseminating information and fostering enhanced awareness among students, staff, and the community in recognizing and supporting the school’s athletic programs and attending eventsTrack participation data (prospects) and academic performance data (achievement) in collaboration with teachers, coaches, and administratorsReliable, consistent attendance is a requirement and essential function for all staff positionsAll other duties as assigned
Language Skills:Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies or staff members.Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
