An exciting opportunity has become available for an SEN Teacher – Lewisham to join a specialist secondary school on a full‑time basis with a September start available.
About the Role
The SEN Teacher – Lewisham will be responsible for planning and delivering personalised lessons that meet the varying needs of Secondary learners within a structured and therapeutic environment.
Daily responsibilities for the SEN Teacher – Secondary may include:
- Delivering functional English, Maths, and life skills sessions
- Preparing students for independent living and future employment
- Creating engaging and accessible learning opportunities
- Working closely with teaching assistants and therapists
- Monitoring student progress and wellbeing
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Previous experience working within SEN settings
- Comfortable teaching Secondary with additional needs
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
- Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Experience with autism and MLD is highly desirable
