Staff Nurse – Maternity & Gynaecology (open to Newly Qualified Nurses)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 nurse with a keen interest in Women’s Health to join our dedicated team in the Urgent Gynae Care Centre on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a part-time opportunity offering a varied and rewarding role within a supportive and dynamic environment.
The Urgent Gynae Care Centre includes:
- Early Pregnancy Clinic
- Gynaecology Outpatients
- Gynaecology Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and experience across a wide range of acute and outpatient gynaecology services while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
The unit operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with staff working 11.5-hour shifts, providing flexible and varied working patterns.

Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes.
- Carries out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision.Provide support to the Patients attending the Urgent Gynae care Centre.
- Triaging of referrals.
- Working with and supporting other members of the team.
- Counselling patients.
- Assessment of patient needs.
- Assisting in procedure clinics.
- To provide nursing advice for women.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- RN Current first or second level NMC Registration.
- Evidence of recent Continuous Professional Development.
- Working towards gaining a teaching certificate.
Experience
- Previous recent experience in Acute Area.
- Evidence of high standards of clinical practice.
- Teaching experience.
- Experience working within hospital environment.
Skills
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to change within working situations.
Special Requirement
- Interest in own professional development.
- Flexible regarding hours/shifts.
- To work in other areas of the Department and Trust when required.
