Design Manager – Refurbishment & RecladdingHatfield (4 days office/site based)Competitive Salary Package
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering major refurbishment, fire remediation, and recladding schemes across occupied residential and higher-risk buildings.
This role will involve leading design from pre-construction through to delivery, managing consultant teams, driving technical coordination, and ensuring compliance with the latest Building Safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
️ Managing the design process from tender through to project completion️ Coordinating consultants, subcontractors, and client teams️ Leading design meetings and technical reviews️ Managing design programmes and tracking deliverables️ Reviewing drawings and ensuring buildability and compliance️ Supporting commercial and operational teams during delivery️ Ensuring compliance with Building Safety Act and HRB requirements️ Managing design changes, RFIs, and technical queries
Requirements:
️ Previous experience working for a Tier 1 contractor️ Strong refurbishment / residential background️ Recladding & fire remediation experience essential️ Knowledge of Building Safety Act / HRBs️ Experience managing design through pre-con and delivery stages️ Relevant construction / technical qualification
The role is based out of Hatfield with a mix of office and site attendance across projects.
