Senior Human Factors Engineer – Contract Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Factors Engineer to join a high-profile defence engineering programme based onsite in Christchurch. Contract Details Duration: 6 Month ContractLocation: Christchurch (Hybrid)Rate: £570 – £630 per dayIR35 Status: Inside IR35 The Role As a Senior Human Factors Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering Human Factors Integration support across complex engineering and safety-critical programmes. Key responsibilities include: Providing Human Factors Integration support across product and process designTailoring and estimating Human Factors activitiesCapturing and managing requirements, risks, and opportunitiesDelivering design guidance, testing, evaluation, and acceptance supportPlanning and conducting quantitative and qualitative Human Factors assessments including: Human error analysisWorkload assessmentSituation awarenessErgonomic analysisUsability evaluationAdvising on the design and usability of hardware and software systemsIdentifying and implementing modern Human Factors best practices and methodologiesManaging the scope and execution of Human Factors activities throughout the project lifecycle Essential Skills & Experience Degree qualified (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in: Human FactorsErgonomicsPsychologyEngineeringor equivalent relevant disciplineRegistered member of the Chartered Institute of Human Factors (or Technical Member working towards registration within 12 months)Minimum 5 years’ experience applying Human Factors methods within defence or other safety-critical industriesStrong experience conducting Human Factors assessments and usability activities Desirable Experience Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams on complex systems integration programmesFamiliarity with Defence Human Factors standards such as: Def Stan 00-251MIL-STD-1472Understanding of engineering lifecycle and development processesBroad knowledge of Human Factors methodologies supporting safety assessmentsIf you are a Human Factors professional looking for your next contract opportunity in a challenging and highly regulated environment, we would like to hear from you
