Mechanical Project Engineer – Central London

£65,000 – £90,000 + Travel Allowance (DOE)

A leading £100m turnover M&E Contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their growing delivery team in Central London.

Operating across the residential and commercial sectors, this established contractor specialises in delivering high-profile M&E projects valued up to £30m and has built a strong reputation for technical delivery, quality, and long-term client relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer looking to work on prestigious London-based developments while progressing within a financially stable and well-respected business.

The Role

Reporting into the Project Manager / Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and managing mechanical packages from pre-construction through to practical completion.

Projects will include a mix of large-scale residential developments and commercial schemes across Central London.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing mechanical packages from design stage through to PCReviewing and coordinating technical drawings and specificationsLiaising with consultants, subcontractors, and client teamsAttending design, progress, and coordination meetingsMonitoring programme, quality, and installation progress on siteAssisting with procurement and subcontractor managementSupporting commissioning, snagging, and handover processesEnsuring health & safety and quality standards are maintained throughout delivery

Requirements

Minimum HNC qualification in Mechanical EngineeringProven experience delivering M&E projects from design stage through to completionPrevious experience within the residential and/or commercial sectorsStrong understanding of mechanical building services installationsExperience working for an M&E Contractor is highly desirableExcellent communication and coordination skillsAbility to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
