Are you an experienced Health, Safety & Environment professional looking to join a global manufacturing organisation where you can influence site-wide HSE performance and drive continuous improvement?DENSO is a $47.2 billion global mobility supplier developing advanced technology and components for nearly every vehicle on the road today.At DENSO Marston Ltd in Shipley, West Yorkshire, we design and manufacture high-performance heat exchange units and cooling modules for leading OEMs across the off-highway construction, agricultural and power generation sectors.The RoleReporting to the Head of Human Resources, the HSE Officer will play a key role in supporting and promoting a safe, compliant and environmentally responsible workplace across the business.Working within a small HSE team, you will provide practical advice and guidance on all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management, ensuring compliance with legal obligations, ISO standards and company policies.This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to influence operational practices, support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with colleagues across the wider DENSO group.Working Hours & BenefitsMonday – Thursday:8.30am – 5.00pmFriday: 8.30am – 1.30pm25 days holiday + bank holidaysBenefits include:Pension scheme (up to 10% employer contribution)Life assurance (4x salary)Permanent Health InsuranceSubsidised canteenDiscounted gym membershipDiscounts across 100s of UK retailersEmployee Assistance ProgrammeHybrid workingFlexible start/finish timesFree onsite parkingKey ResponsibilitiesSupport the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and proceduresEnsure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systemsConduct and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments and workplace inspectionsSupport managers in promoting HSE ownership and best practice across their departmentsMonitor and report on HSE performance, incidents and corrective actionsDeliver HSE training, toolbox talks and awareness initiativesEnsure statutory inspections and contractor controls are maintainedSupport incident investigations and ensure reporting requirements are metLiaise with external authorities and internal DENSO stakeholders regarding HSE mattersContribute to continuous improvement and wider European HSE initiativesWhat We’re Looking ForNEBOSH Certificate qualificationIOSH membershipPrevious HSE experience within a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and compliance requirementsExperience working with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systemsExcellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skillsStrong organisational and problem-solving capabilityConfident using Microsoft Office and external reporting systemsPreferred Experience & QualificationsNEBOSH DiplomaGraduate-level qualificationCertified Machine Safety Expert (CMSE)Experience of machinery safety, LEV testing and environmental monitoringExperience supporting HSE initiatives within a fast-paced operational environment
