Love a challenge? Enjoy working with young people? Want to make a real difference in your community and have fun doing it?

We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to join our friendly team in Eaglescliffe as Scout Leaders. You’ll help deliver exciting activities for young people aged 10½ to 14 – from building shelters to building confidence, every week brings new adventures.

No Scouting experience? No problem! You bring the energy and willingness to get involved – we’ll provide the training, support, and laughs along the way.

1st Eaglescliffe Scout Group

Responsibilities

  • Plan and run engaging weekly sessions with support from a team of adult volunteers.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for young people.
  • Support Scouts in developing skills for life – like teamwork, problem‑solving, and leadership.
  • Help organise camps, community projects, and outdoor adventures.
  • Encourage youth‑led decision‑making and personal development.
  • Work with parents and the local Scouting team to keep everything running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic planning and organisation.
  • A sense of adventure and a willingness to try new things.
  • Full training and resources will be provided, including safeguarding, first aid, and programme planning.
  • Friendly, positive and encouraging.
  • Open‑minded and inclusive.
  • Reliable and willing to get stuck in.
  • Enjoys working with young people and seeing them grow.
  • A good sense of humour is a bonus – expect lots of fun!
  • Commit to attending regular weekly sessions (flexible around your availability).
  • Complete essential training (mostly online and fully supported).
  • Work within Scout Association values, policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Be part of a wider volunteer network with opportunities to grow and develop personally.
