Job summary
An exciting opportunity to work as a Research Governance Administrator has arisen in the Research and Development Team. This is a 1-year fixed term/secondment opportunity for a full time band 3 post. We are a team of experienced and dedicated professionals collaborating with our talented multi-disciplinary clinical teams to deliver a wide range of innovative high quality research trials to inform the future care of our patients. The R & D team support a large and growing portfolio of research studies across multiple specialities.

We are looking to appoint an organised, enthusiastic, motivated, and proactive individual who will enjoy the challenge of supporting a research governance team with research trial feasibility, set up, capacity and capability processes and trial modification review.
You will be based at the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart Lung Research Institute (VPD HLRI) and Royal Papworth Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
The post holder will provide Administrative Assistance to the Research and Development Governance team, co-ordinating flow of communications across the R&D department, with Trust wide multidisciplinary teams and with external sponsors.
The post holder will be responsible for managing central email accounts, completing and maintaining excel spreadsheets and other filing and office duties, in a confidential, professional and timely manner.
The post holder will aim to support the research governance team to achieve specified milestones in a timely manner and ensure high quality data is added to EDGE (Local Performance Portfolio Management System – LPMS).
The post holder will support and contribute to the production of reports on research activity for the R&D Directorate, Trust and Regional Research Delivery Network.
The post holder will follow departmental and Trust standard operating procedures to provide high quality and efficient administrative service for the research and development department.

Person specification
Qualifications
Administrative qualification at Level 3 such as NVQ or BTEC, or equivalent experience.
Educated to GCSE Level 4, or equivalent in English and Maths or equivalent qualification or experience
ICH GCP E6 R3 certificate
European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)/equivalent qualification or experience.
Experience
Previous experience of using Microsoft Office Applications.
Previous experience of working in an office environment.
Previous experience using databases.
The ability to demonstrate attention to detail in daily work tasks.
The ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone and by electronic communication.
The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality administrative support.
Able to organise, prioritise and adjust own workload in relation to the priorities of the department on a daily basis.
The ability to make changes to own practice and offer suggestions for improving services.
Ability to input data while maintaining high quality information governance standards.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Previous experience of working in research or within the NHS or healthcare setting.
Previous experience of EDGE and ability to run reports as per this database.
Understanding of regulatory bodies in research e.g. HRA, MHRA.
