Compliance Executive

Permanent, Belfast Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 Onsite initially, hybrid working after probation Monday – Friday

We are working with a well-established, regulated professional services organisation in Belfast who are seeking a Compliance Executive to join their Risk & Compliance function on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, collaborative team where you will gain broad exposure across compliance, AML and onboarding activities. The role offers strong long-term development, variety in day-to-day work and the chance to play a key part in supporting both new and ongoing business.

The Role

Reporting into senior compliance leadership, the Compliance Executive will support the day-to-day operation of the firm’s compliance, AML and onboarding frameworks. The role balances facilitating business activity while ensuring regulatory and internal compliance requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting client onboarding and matter opening in line with AML and regulatory requirements
  • Conducting CDD, EDD, sanctions, PEP and adverse media checks
  • Assisting with source of funds and source of wealth reviews
  • Ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews of higher-risk clients
  • Supporting file management, quality assurance and remediation activity
  • Escalating compliance and financial crime risks in line with internal procedures
  • Acting as a point of contact for AML and onboarding queries from the wider business
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to audits, reviews and process improvements

About You

You will already have experience working in a compliance or regulated environment, ideally with exposure to AML and financial crime requirements. You’ll be comfortable working closely with stakeholders and able to strike the right balance between enabling business and maintaining robust controls.

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience in a compliance, AML, onboarding or regulated role
  • Good understanding of AML / CDD processes (legal or professional services experience advantageous)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Personable and confident communicator, able to work collaboratively
  • Organised, process-driven and comfortable escalating issues where required
