About the Role
We are working with Kettering General Hospital to recruit an ST3+ Locally Employed Doctor in Haematology to join a busy and supportive department.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience across both clinical and laboratory haematology, working alongside a team of Consultants, Registrars, and junior doctors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical care across haematology inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and chemotherapy services
- Support the emergency assessment bay and acute admissions
- Gain experience in bone marrow biopsies and laboratory haematology
- Assist in the management of haematological and oncological emergencies
- Participate in clinical trials and research activity
- Contribute to teaching of junior doctors and medical students
- Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
This role provides exposure to intensive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted cancer treatments, offering valuable experience for those considering a career in haematology.
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with Licence to Practise
- MRCP (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in General Medicine
- Experience or strong interest in Haematology
- Ability to manage acute and complex patients
Desirable
- Previous experience in clinical haematology
- Experience in teaching and training junior staff
- Involvement in research or audit
- Interest in pursuing specialist training in haematology
