We are working with a leading manufacturing business who are looking for a Buyer to join their team. The successful candidate be responsible for ensuring parts, materials and components required for production are available.

The Role

• Source for various parts, components and materials for production
• Negotiate prices and lead times for products and secure favourable terms for the business
• Liaise with suppliers and schedule deliveries according to production schedule

• Ensure all specification requirements are met for purchased products
• Develop, improve and build strong supplier relationships
• Monitor supplier performance and address any reoccurring issues
• Track progress and manage goods sent out for rework
• Managing call off orders for long lead time items
• Other relevant duties

Essential Criteria

• A minimum (2) years + experience in a purchasing / procurement role
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to work both alone and as part of a team
• Previous experience in working with a MRP system
• Willingness to learn and develop skills
