Job Description:

Main Purpose of the Job

Lead the planning and delivery of data-driven initiatives across the organisation.  Support and improve data quality, accessibility, and reporting processes.

Support the IT team to troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues.

 

Main Duties

  • Support the delivery of data initiatives, including reporting, process improvements, and system enhancements
  • Coordinate work across teams, ensuring clear communication between technical and non-technical staff
  • Translate business needs into clear data and system requirements
  • Support and improve data quality, accessibility, and reporting processes
  • Provide day-to-day IT support across office and warehouse teams
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards
  • Work with MSSQL data sources
  • Help automate business reporting and improve data quality

Collaborate with the Head of IT to gain understanding of existing systems and infrastructure:

  • Actively engage in training and knowledge transfer with the Head of IT on:
  • In-house systems development and management
  • Existing data structures and workflows
  • Hardware and infrastructure used within the organisation
  • Develop a strong understanding of both software and hardware environments to support ongoing projects and future improvements

Key Results

Support and improve data quality, accessibility, and reporting processes and provide holiday cover and additional support to Head of IT.

Knowledge, Training, Attributes and Experience required to do this job

 

Essential

 

  •  IT support experience (1st/2nd line)
  • Strong MSSQL Server and Power BI skills
  • Confident working with users and stakeholders
  • Organised, proactive, and adaptable
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and develop understanding of technical systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Exposure to data tools (e.g., Excel, MSSQL, Power BI, or similar)
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams
  • Interest in developing broader technical knowledge

Desirable (training will be provided)

 

Manufacturing and/or Timber industry knowledge
