An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded clinical leader to join a well-established independent healthcare provider during a pivotal period of growth and modernisation.
This fixed-term appointment offers the chance to make a genuine strategic impact within a highly regarded surgical hospital specialising in elective and specialist services. The organisation is seeking a dynamic Head of Clinical Services who can bring fresh thinking, operational leadership, and a strong commercial mindset to help shape the next phase of development.
This is far more than a traditional clinical leadership role. The successful candidate will play a key part in driving operational efficiency, enhancing service delivery, improving workforce utilisation, and supporting sustainable growth across private healthcare activity.
The Opportunity
You will lead a multidisciplinary clinical workforce across theatres, inpatient services, outpatients, and clinical support teams, while working closely with executive leadership to modernise processes, strengthen cross-site collaboration, and support strategic objectives.
Key areas of focus include:
- Driving operational and workforce efficiency
- Bringing a more commercial and strategic approach to clinical services
- Supporting growth in private patient activity
- Challenging existing ways of working and introducing innovative thinking
- Strengthening collaboration and communication across sites
- Maintaining high standards of governance, quality, and patient care
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
✔️ Senior clinical leadership experience within the independent healthcare sector
✔️ Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking capability
✔️ Experience leading large multidisciplinary clinical teams
✔️ Proven operational and budget management experience
✔️ The confidence to challenge constructively and drive improvement
✔️ A collaborative, engaging, and forward-thinking leadership style
Experience within surgical, plastics, cosmetic, or elective care environments would be advantageous, though not essential.
