Role Overview
Northwick Park Hospital seeks a Consultant Neurologist to support the existing team. The role involves delivering general outpatient clinics, performing liaison inpatient work, triaging referrals from primary care, supervising clinical fellows and nurse specialists, and contributing to the development of neurology services in the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct general neurological outpatient clinics.
- Provide liaison work on the wards.
- Advise and guide triage of referrals from the primary sector.
- Supervise clinical fellows and nurse specialists.
- Participate in developing Nurse Specialist positions and collaborate with the local Primary Care Trust to enhance access and quality of service.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should be a qualified consultant neurologist with experience in outpatient and inpatient neurology, and experience in supervising trainees and clinicians is desirable. Motivated, friendly, and capable of engaging with a diverse population are essential qualities.

The Department of Neurology at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust currently has a diverse team of 15 consultant neurologists across three hospital sites. At Northwick Park Hospital, the team includes 7 consultant neurologists, 4 specialist nurses, 2 clinical fellows, and a comprehensive neurophysiology service at Central Middlesex Hospital. Approximately 1,500 new outpatients are seen each year, reflecting strong local demand for neurological opinion.
