Head of FP&A

We are currently looking for a high-performing Head of FP&A for a listed Manufacturing and Retail business based in the M6 Corridor. The successful candidate must have experience of establishing an FP&A function within a business, partnering with executives across the business to bring clarity, insight and direction to the business through the use of financial data.

Responsibilities

• Operating as a business partner driving strategic, operational and financial initiatives.
• Producing accurate, timely and actionable financial data and insights.
• Provide guidance on strategic risk and capital optimisation.
• Stakeholder management through planning and management reporting processes across the wider team.
• Transformation of planning processes and systems. Identifying opportunities to deliver efficiencies within the current planning process.
• Enhance all of the reporting and analysis the team produces; bringing best in class thinking and behaviours to the business.
• Oversee the group’s planning systems.
• Through improved processes, enhance the quality of revenue, profit and cash forecasting.

Core Skills

• A Qualified accountant (ACA, ACMA, CIMA) with several years of post qualification experience experience.
• Strong reporting, analysis and presentational skills (data and verbal).
• Strong understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow.
• Experience of developing an FP&A capability.
• Prior experience of regularly dealing and engaging with Senior Leadership and a high degree of stakeholder management.
• An understanding of manufacturing (standard costs, margin etc.).
• This is a stand-alone role at present so the ability to ‘Do’ as well as influence is critical.
• Understanding of product margins and how to influence the key leavers (price, cost, efficiencies, margin ‘leakage’).
