Job Summary

The Business Development Director will work globally with production, marketing, operations management and senior leadership to acquire new business in the target territory. This individual is an important team member, contributing to the overall customer experience through a customer‑centric sales methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Making contact with clients to develop and maintain healthy working relationships.
  • Collaborating with Program Directors, Enterprise Project Managers and Project Managers to create territory, account and opportunity plans, RFPs, SOWs, quotes, and ensuring administrative details are handled effectively and efficiently.
  • Managing customer data within Salesforce.com, including forecasts, plans, activities, opportunities, pipelines and related data.
  • Coordinating RFP/RFQ/RFI responses as needed.
  • Traveling approximately 30%, including customer visits and industry events.
  • Working in a global team to define value propositions and service offerings for existing and new clients.
  • Partnering with managers to generate higher returns on sales and marketing efforts, producing larger volumes of target clients.
  • Driving opportunities through the sales process with managers and global teams to achieve closed sales above budget.
  • Taking responsibility and accountability for designated clients, territories, verticals, horizontals, service offerings, and projects.
  • Collaborating with global teams to define internal and external expectations and aligning them to specific deliverables.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university, with five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five to seven years of enterprise‑level, business‑to‑business sales experience in professional services and technology solutions to Fortune 500 and mid‑market customers.
  • Minimum of two consecutive years of total closed sales in new business of $2millionperyear.
  • Proven track record working in a customer‑centric sales methodology, lead generation, key account targeting, qualifying, and closing new business, including new and existing accounts.
  • Enterprise‑level sales experience in the localization industry, ability to create and execute on successful business development strategies.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and data‑based decision‑making skills, with comfort in financial and operational analysis.
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills, with a history of obtaining buy‑in for innovative projects.
  • Tenacity and sense of urgency, able to move quickly with large, less nimble customers.

This role is an independent contributor and has no direct report responsibilities.
