Data Architect (Contract) – Insurance Transformation

London (Hybrid – 2 days onsite, Bishopsgate)

700-750/day (Inside IR35) 3-Month Contract

We’re supporting a major insurance transformation programme and are looking for a hands-on Data Architect to help design and deliver scalable, cloud-first data solutions.

Working alongside a Lead Cloud Data Architect, you’ll play a key role across both operational and analytical data environments, contributing to modern data architecture aligned with enterprise and cloud strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end data architecture solutions across:
  • Operational systems & integrations
  • Analytical and reporting platforms
  • Cloud-based data environments
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performing architectures
  • Support integration patterns (API-led, batch, event-driven)
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure practical delivery
  • Produce architecture artefacts, solution designs, and technical documentation
  • Contribute to governance, design reviews, and assurance activities
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, cloud teams, and delivery stakeholders

  Strong experience with:

  • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Azure Databricks (ADB)
  • PySpark
  • Synapse Analytics
  • Python
  • Modern data patterns (Lakehouse / Medallion architecture)

  What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in Data Architecture within cloud environments
  • Strong mix of hands-on technical skills and solution design
  • Experience working in delivery-focused teams
  • Solid understanding of modern data platforms & integration patterns
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to challenge and improve existing approaches
