Purpose of the role

Lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high‑quality software solutions. Drive technical excellence, foster a culture of innovation, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Accountabilities

Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organisational objectives. Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritisation to ensure successful delivery of solutions within scope, time and budget.

Mentor and support team members’ professional growth through performance reviews, actionable feedback and identification of improvement opportunities. Evaluate and enhance engineering processes, tools and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows and optimise team productivity.

Collaborate with business partners, product managers, designers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.

Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews and implement robust testing practices to guarantee high‑quality solutions.

Expectations

Manage a business function, providing significant input to function‑wide strategic initiatives and influencing policy and procedures. Coordinate multiple complex and critical strategic projects which may be business‑wide and manage a large sub‑function or team of people managers.

Guide a performance culture aligned to the values of the business, provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees, and influence decisions made outside the own function. Manage resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub‑function, and mitigate breaches of policy or procedure.

Foster compliance, ensure regulatory requirements are observed and maintain relationships with external regulators or advocacy groups to monitor and influence on behalf of the organisation.

Objectives

Serve as the key IT partner for the Luxembourg Treasury, Strategic Transactions Group and Principal Investment businesses. Own front‑office booking systems for these businesses and act as the primary liaison for broader IT engagement.

Lead a globally distributed application development team of approximately ten individuals responsible for analysis, integration, maintenance and enhancements of front‑office booking systems, including level‑3 support escalation.

Implement high architectural standards and partner with the business to deliver a long‑term 3‑to‑5‑year plan, supporting the two‑year objective to modernise and simplify booking and cash management processes, eliminate approximate bookings and strengthen controls.

  • Proven track record of talent development, coaching and stretching team ambition
  • Experience in decommissioning applications, especially front‑to‑back integration of systems
  • Understanding of Treasury products, accounting and liquidity management
  • Bonus: Experience implementing vendor applications
