Consultant Clinical Psychologist – Salford Community Services

This is a great opportunity to join a passionate and supportive group of psychological professionals working in Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust’s (GMMH) Salford community services. You will be an active member of the community psychological professions leadership team and professionally lead the psychological professions in the Salford locality. The Trust’s psychological services are innovative and well respected and you will be able to collaborate on local, regional and national work.

The role will bring the opportunity to support the ongoing development of community services as they are strengthened in line with the Community Transformation Framework and the NHS 10 Year Health Plan for England.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will provide psychological clinical and professional leadership to the adult community mental health services in the Salford locality. This covers services provided by the Referral and Assessment Hub, specialist community mental health teams and the age inclusive neighbourhood mental health team as well as CERN (complex emotional and relational needs) pathways. Working closely with the adult and older adult community psychological professional leads within the care group and operational staff the post holder will help continue to support the governance and development of a high-quality psychological service in the community and to ensure that current resources are used most effectively.

Qualifications

  • Current practice registration with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist
  • Leadership/ Management qualification with proven ability to lead and build effective teams
  • Postgraduate study, or equivalent specialist experience
  • Demonstrable theoretical and practical knowledge of psychological approaches to working within an adult community mental health service
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, across boundaries where necessary.
  • Ability to formulate and work adaptively within complex organisational systems
  • Good understanding of workforce development

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of one or more areas of specialist psychological assessment and treatment
  • Experience of working clinically and evidence of clinical leadership in adult mental health services.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision and professional leadership
  • Experience as Consultant Psychological Professional and currently in an active clinical role.
  • Experience in a management role
