Role: Business Immigration Solicitor

A leading law firm is looking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Business Immigration Solicitor for a highly sought permanent position.

Our client serves corporate entities and private individuals in over 25 practice areas from offices throughout London and across England and Wales. The firm holds the Investors in People Gold Accreditation Quality Standard Mark, is LEXCEL, Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO accredited, and is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Immigration Department Background

The department is recognized as a top‑tier practice in business immigration, human rights, appeals, and personal immigration. They handle the full spectrum of immigration law, including asylum, human rights, nationality, and business immigration. The team includes highly skilled lawyers trained as barristers with experience in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report directly to Department Director
  • Manage and supervise Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers to handle appropriate caseload types and complexities
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients on business and personal immigration regulations and policies
  • Represent clients in negotiations and hearings on immigration issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business clients
  • Collaborate with partners to create and implement the firm’s strategic plans
  • Ensure the legal team’s compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the firm’s growth
  • Manage client expectations and ensure high levels of client satisfaction

Key Skills Required

  • Clean, valid Practising Certificate at the time of applying
  • At least 2 years PQE experience handling business/corporate/private client immigration cases
  • Problem solving and excellent communication skills
  • Passion and drive to succeed
  • Teamworking and leadership ability
  • Expert knowledge of business immigration laws and regulations
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong management skills
  • Pro‑active approach with excellent client care, including handling vulnerable client matters sensitively
  • Excellent networking and communication skills for business development
  • IT skills – familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and document management
