Job Summary
Associate Director Clean Water Process Engineer – Design & Advanced Technology (D&AT) Practice. Lead and deliver complex engineering solutions for the UK Water market, working with clients such as Thames Water, Anglian Water, South East Water, Southern Water, and regional authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Clean Water Process Engineers to deliver high‑quality technical design work for complex multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Develop project design deliverables, manage time and budgets, and meet key project milestones.
- Manage production, review, and approve technical deliverables such as design reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
- Provide technical leadership within discipline for the regional/national practice and influence practice‑wide initiatives.
- Grow, develop, and manage Clean Water Process Engineering capabilities within the regional and/or national practice.
- Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems and provide guidance to junior team members.
- Advise clients, operational, project, or service activities and collaborate on technical aspects of bid proposals.
- Work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Chemical / Process Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Chemical / Process Engineer.
- Proven experience leading large‑scale Clean Water Process engineering design delivery for a design consultancy within a multi‑disciplinary environment.
- Broad perspective to identify innovative solutions and challenge the status quo.
- In‑depth knowledge of drinking water treatment process and principles – conventional and advanced technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Expert knowledge of current design codes and standards, including CDM Regulations.
- Experience in the UK Water market is preferred.
- Proactive, highly motivated, collaborative mindset to drive teamwork and shared success.
- Comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
