Lead Data Scientist

About the role

Lead Data Scientist tasked with building and commercialising AI‑led solutions across Kantar’s portfolio. This role collaborates with the Chief AI Scientist and Executive Committee, leads research and development of new capabilities, and oversees productisation of AI and ML ideas.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior leadership to create an outstanding portfolio of AI‑led solutions.
• Conduct R&D to develop new algorithms, technologies and capabilities, including Generative AI.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Operations and Commercial teams to scale and commercialise products.
• Translate AI/ML concepts into scalable, production‑ready products.
• Lead a cross‑functional, geographically distributed data science team.
• Advocate and represent data science and AI initiatives across the organisation.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience from world‑class technical institutes.
• Strong background in supervised and unsupervised machine learning and exposure to Generative AI.
• Proficiency in mathematics, probability, analytics, and multivariate statistics.
• Proven experience leading or developing AI/ML product or solution.
• Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) using server‑less architecture.
• Expertise with Azure Machine Learning, Amazon SageMaker, Google Cloud AI services and Python.
• Experience in Agile product development and R&D settings.
• Excellent communication skills in English for technical and business audiences.
• Comfortable working within global, diverse teams.
• Technology‑savvy, encourages rapid prototyping and experimentation.
• Attention to detail and ability to balance strategy with tactical execution.

Additional Requirements

• Hybrid work model: three days a week in the London, South Bank Central office. No visa sponsorship or relocation support is available.
