Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, part time (28 hours per week) post based in the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People.

Position Summary

Deliver tertiary respiratory care to children in NHS Lothian and, by agreement, in other health boards across Scotland. The post is a substantive paediatric respiratory consultant position, currently funded for 7 post appointments (PAs). There is no current commitment to out of hours work, but a dedicated on‑call respiratory rota is expected to commence later in 2026, with a planned 1 in 6 contributions, including the successful candidate.

Qualifications

Applicants must have full GMC registration, a licence to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within six months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non‑UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
