Reliability Engineer – CBM/PDM, Global RME Central Condition Monitoring Programs

Job ID: 10432250 | Amazon UK Services Ltd.

Amazon’s Global Reliability Team is building the next generation of predictive maintenance technology for one of the world’s largest fulfillment networks. As a Reliability Engineer, you will evaluate, deploy, and advance condition monitoring technologies that prevent equipment failures before they affect operations.

You will work across vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis, and other detection methods; synthesizing data from CMMS and OEM platforms into findings that drive real maintenance decisions at scale. This role requires someone who can own complex technical projects end-to-end, communicate findings clearly to program leadership and field stakeholders, and deliver results with limited guidance in a fast-moving environment.

You will lead condition monitoring technology deployments and evaluations across multiple sites, own corrective action documentation, partner directly with equipment manufacturers and field reliability stakeholders, and present recommendations to program leadership. You will deliver independently and grow into broader program ownership as you build depth across the condition monitoring technology portfolio.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead condition monitoring technology deployments and evaluations across multiple fulfillment and sort sites, owning each project from identification through resolution
  • Synthesize sensor, platform, and equipment data into actionable findings; author technical white papers and corrective action documentation with minimal supervision
  • Diagnose issues within complex multi-technology systems; apply structured root cause analysis tools including 5‑Why, cause-and-effect analysis, and lean methodology to develop and validate fixes
  • Define project KPIs and deliverables; track timelines and milestones, resolve schedule risks before they become escalations
  • Partner directly with equipment manufacturers, product development teams, and field reliability stakeholders; serve as primary point of contact without manager intervention
  • Work backwards from maintenance and reliability customer needs to define the correct solution path and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Present project status, findings, and recommendations to program leadership in business review forums
  • Identify and optimize operational processes; document improvements for broader team reuse
  • Provide technical guidance and work reviews for junior team members

A Day in the Life

You start your day reviewing equipment data from sites across the network, looking for patterns that signal emerging failures. From there you might be validating findings with an OEM or internal partner, working through a root cause analysis on a technology that is not performing to spec, or drafting the narrative for a corrective action you own. Some days you are on‑site working directly with field reliability teams. Others you are in front of program leadership presenting what you found and what you recommend. No two days look the same, and the problems you solve show up in equipment that stays running.

About the Team

We are a global, technically deep team inside Amazon’s maintenance innovation organization. Our work sits at the intersection of reliability engineering, data analysis, and technology development, and what we build gets deployed at scale across one of the world’s largest fulfillment networks. We move fast, we own our work end‑to‑end, and we care about getting the technical details right. The team spans field execution and technology innovation, and we actively invest in each other’s growth. If you want to work on hard problems that have a direct, measurable impact on how Amazon maintains its operations, this is the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in planning, scheduling and auditing maintenance activities
  • Experience working with CMMS software
  • Knowledge of performance metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime, throughput, or quality
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and MS Project) at an advanced level
  • Experience building launch readiness frameworks, standard work, playbooks, and scalable deployment mechanisms across multiple concurrent sites
  • Experience in reliability/maintenance environments
  • Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions
  • Experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
  • Experience in project and program management
  • Experience in Industrial (IoT)
