A fantastic Secondary School in Hertfordshire are on the hunt for Aspiring Geography Teacher for a September 2026 start. This is a full time, and permanent post. Please note, the salary is based upon experience & on a scale.
This Aspiring Geography Teacher Program is being offered as a “Earn, while you teach & learn” route – which in turn is a Salaried Schools Direct scheme.
Key points about the scheme:
- Paid position on the Unqualified Teacher (UQT) scale (most commonly UQ1)
- Employed directly by a school from day one
- Higher initial teaching load, typically around 15 periods per week
- Teaching load gradually increases to approximately 20 periods per week
- One dedicated training day per week
- Opportunity to gain QTS with PGCE (optional opt-out available if required)
- Working at one School throughout – avoiding any conflict in different teaching styles (in turn reducing stress on teacher)
