Music Project and Data Officer – Westmorland and Furness Council

Westmorland and Furness Council are looking to recruit a Project Lead and Data Officer to join their Westmorland and Furness Music Service Team. You will support the delivery of the Music Service and the Cumbria Music Hub programme, and strategic priorities. This post will suit a highly organised, enthusiastic and pro-active person who has proven skills in, or who wishes to develop their Arts Management and Leadership skills. Our new colleague must be dedicated and committed to providing high-quality musical opportunity for children, young people, and their educational settings. They will need to be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, and to organise, prioritise and work autonomously and flexibly to meet targets.

If successful, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Leadership Team of the Music Service and Music Hub and will be responsible to the Music Service Coordinator. The role will include the opportunity to work with varied and diverse stakeholders including children and young people, their schools and families.

The successful applicant will provide support for the operational management and delivery of the Westmorland and Furness Music Service and Music Hub suite of programmes and music education opportunities across the Cumbria Music Hub. Delivered both in and out of school settings for the benefit of all children and young people in Cumbria you will:

  • Support the Music Service and Cumbria Music Hub leadership team to project manage and deliver our suite of programmes across the county.
  • Support, and where appropriate develop business systems to ensure effective processes are in place to collate and monitor participant engagement, enrolment, attendance and progression analysis and participant feedback. Prepare data reporting requirements and returns for external funding bodies and DfE.
  • Take a supported lead in multiple smaller projects at any or all life-cycle stages from initial scoping, through delivery and completion.
  • Support our out-of-school programme of activities (including evening, weekend, and holiday courses) through providing administrative support to the programmes and attending course, rehearsals, and events in a pastoral capacity to secure safeguarding of children and young people.

The aims are to:

  • Support schools and other education settings to deliver high-quality music education.
  • Support all children and young people to engage with a range of musical opportunities in and out of school.
  • Support young people to develop their musical interests and talent further, including into employment.
