Junior Pre-construction Manager

Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire

Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Holiday: 36 days, including Bank Holidays

Role Overview

As a junior pre-construction manager, you will understand client requirements, plan projects, visit client sites, and produce cost estimates for approval. You will support the design and development team to ensure cost and buildability are aligned with the programme.

Responsibilities

  • Understand client requirements and prepare a clear, defined scope of works
  • Arrange and attend nationwide site visits to further understand client’s requirements, take accurate measurements, and build strong working relationships with clients
  • In-depth project planning and coordination
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and take-offs
  • Support the design and development team to ensure cost and buildability are aligned with the programme
  • Identify commercial risk and advise on opportunities for value engineering

Qualifications

  • Strong commercial awareness and at least 3 years of experience within the construction industry
  • Experience in estimation, contracts management, project management or quantity surveying (preferred)
  • Technical skills, with a preference for candidates who can understand and interpret technical drawings
  • High-level organisational and clear communication skills
  • Ability to prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive quotations
  • Key negotiation skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary up to £50,000, depending on background experience
