Proclinical is seeking a Technical Applications Professional to support customers across a defined regional territory. In this field‑oriented role, you will combine your scientific expertise, technical problem‑solving skills, and stakeholder engagement abilities to help end users optimise the use of complex diagnostic technologies while delivering a high‑quality customer experience. This position involves regular travel within the assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical and applications expert, supporting laboratories in the effective use of diagnostic platforms.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions for both new and existing users, ensuring confidence in operating and optimising systems.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and guidance to resolve complex technical and applications‑related issues efficiently.
  • Support the full customer lifecycle, from pre‑site assessments and installations through to post‑implementation support.
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑term customer relationships to drive satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and gather insights from competitor sites to support business growth.
  • Represent the organisation at conferences, trade shows, and customer events, providing both technical expertise and commercial awareness.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as Sales, Field Service Engineering, Marketing, Technical Support, and Customer Service to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience within a diagnostic laboratory environment, with strong applications knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of diagnostic technologies, with the ability to confidently support associated products and services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM/ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle or similar platforms).
  • Knowledge of local accreditation standards and clinical training requirements relevant to medical devices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a structured approach to problem‑solving.
  • Confidence in delivering training sessions to a variety of user groups.
  • Ability to interpret scientific literature and communicate key insights effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
