Location: Oswestry
Job Description:

Salary up to £53,000

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we’re trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Park Issa is a well‑established practice based in Oswestry, Shropshire, near the Welsh border. We also have a branch practice 20 minutes away near Wrexham. We pride ourselves on committed client and patient care and aim to give the best service possible. We have two operating theatres, an imaging suite with modern ultrasound and x‑ray machines, and a dental procedures room with dental x‑ray.

We handle a broad caseload of medical and surgical cases and perform basic orthopaedics, including lateral suture and MMP cruciate repair and patella luxation. A large garden behind the practice is often used for sunny lunch breaks or exercise for in‑patients.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

We are looking for a senior small animal vet to join our fabulous team at Park Issa! This is an exciting leadership opportunity in a busy GP practice, a chance to inspire clinical excellence, promote great client care and high standards of patient care. You will be working alongside an experienced team including Clinical Director, Practice Manager and 2 Head Nurses.

This is a part‑time role working 28 hours per week from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. There may be flexibility with hours and days. One in eight weekends (Saturday shift 8:30 am–4:30 pm) and we use VetsNow for OOH, but we have facilities to keep in‑patients overnight if required.

The salary is up to £53,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Park Issa is a memorable practice because of the wonderful team who works here. Made up of 1 small‑animal clinical director and 6 vets working a mix of hours, we have certificate holders in small‑animal medicine and surgery. Our team is willing to support you clinically and personally, and we value well‑being and work‑life balance, making it important to us to find the right people for the job and retain our staff. We have regular meetings to discuss cases, and someone is always around to give advice and support.

You Might Be a Great Fit If…

Our ideal candidate is an experienced vet with or without leadership experience, who strives for great clinical standards, champions innovation and is a strong mentor/leader. You will have animal care at the heart of everything you do and enthusiasm for providing a high‑quality service.

  • A veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
