Position
Band 5 Nursing – Member of the Gynaecology Nursing Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients in general gynaecology and oncology inpatient areas, including enhanced care pathways for pre‑ and post‑operative care.
- Manage patients admitted through the emergency department, including pregnancy related complications and miscarriages.
- Provide ongoing care for patients with palliative and cancer diagnoses, manage end‑of‑life care and support complex discharges.
- Support the organisation and operational management of service delivery and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Act as an ambassador for the 6 Cs – Culture for compassionate care (Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Commitment, Courage).
- Supervise and teach non‑registered, newly registered and newly appointed staff, and undertake educational roles such as link nurse and cascade training as the post is established.
Qualifications & Experience
- Band 5 nursing qualification, paid or pre‑certified.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to deal sensitively with difficult situations.
- Experience or interest in gynaecology is desirable but not essential.
- Enthusiasm to demonstrate the Trust values CAREL and embrace the ‘be kind’ approach.
